Home Team!
A space to learn sports and develop confidence in physical movement skills for Autistic and Neurodiverse kids.
Think of Home Team as a PE Class developed specifically to support the sensory and gross motor skill needs of Autistic children. The program is built around 8 week terms that use team sports to promote movement, fitness, communication, coordination and much more.
The program is split into 2 groups. Home Team Yellow is the morning group. The focus here is on building basic sporting skills including hand-eye coordination, gross and fine motor skills, concepts of team work and having fun.
Home Team Orange builds on those basic core skills and begins to explore the finer rules of the different sports, set play strategies and team work skills.
Where: Mitchell Park Sport and Community Centre
When: Wednesday mornings 10am to 11am (Yellow) and 11:30am to 12:30pm (Orange)
How much: $48.50 per session*
Group Size: Groups are capped at 12 participants
*NDIS Payments accepted for Plan and Self Managed participants using a Core funds code.
Home Team meetings take place during the day on weekdays to suit Autistic children who are homeschooling, who are on reduced school attendance or currently on school exclusion.
